Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)

I’m feeling nervous about starting therapy. Is that normal?
Yes, it’s completely normal to feel nervous or anxious about starting therapy. Many people feel apprehensive before their first session, especially if they’re uncertain about what to expect or if they’ve never spoken to a therapist before. Remember, therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself at your own pace. I will guide you through the process, and you are in control of what you choose to share

Can therapy help if I don’t have a specific problem but just feel "stuck"?
Yes, therapy can be helpful if you feel stuck or uncertain about your direction in life. You don’t need to have a clear, defined problem to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy for personal growth, to explore their emotions, or to gain clarity about their life goals. I will try to help you identify patterns and work with you to create a path forward.

What can I expect during my first therapy session?

During your first session, we will discuss your concerns, goals for therapy, and background. This session is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the process and for me to get to know you. We will also go over the logistics of therapy, including scheduling, fees, and confidentiality.

How long does therapy typically last?

The number of sessions varies depending on your needs and goals. Some people may feel better after a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. I will work with you to establish a plan that meets your individual needs and regularly discuss your progress to ensure therapy is helping you and make adjustments as needed.

How often do I need to attend therapy?

Therapy frequency is typically once a week, but this can vary depending on your needs. Some clients prefer biweekly sessions or more frequent visits in times of crisis. We will discuss the frequency that works best for you.

How much does a session cost?

My fee is currently €65 per 50 minute session. Fees are payable at each session and can be made by way of cash, Revolut or bank transfer

What issues can therapy help with?

Therapy can help with a wide range of challenges, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. If you're unsure whether therapy is the right choice for you, feel free to reach out and ask.

Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Yes, everything you share in therapy is confidential, with a few exceptions as required by law. These include situations where there is risk of harm to yourself or others, or if abuse or neglect is disclosed. We can discuss confidentiality in more detail during your first session.

How do I know if therapy is working for me?

Therapy is a collaborative process, and progress may look different for everyone. You may notice changes in your thinking, feelings, or behaviors. We will regularly check in on your goals and adjust the approach if necessary. If at any point you feel therapy is not helping, please let me know so we can explore other options.

What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Please provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a fee. We can discuss any scheduling concerns during your first session.

How do I know if online therapy is right for me?

Online therapy can be a great option if you have scheduling challenges, live in a remote area, or prefer the convenience of meeting from home. If you’re unsure, we can discuss your preferences and goals to determine whether in-person or online sessions would be most beneficial for you.
